This scarce and quite possibly unique Gauge 1 Clockwork 0-6-2 Tank Locomotive was made by Gerbruder Bing for Bassett-Lowke in 1926.

It is a remarkably accurate rendition of a period "Condensing Tank" Locomotive which was originally designed to condense the pollutant smoke in tunnels and subterranean railways - The L.N.E.R. (London & North Eastern Railway) ran their suburban services out of Kings Cross in London using miles of underground tunnelling.

This sturdy locomotive features forward and reverse motion control, operating brake and exquisite period detailing.
