"The find of the Century, recently discovered here, in the Middle East"
The "Atom Jet" Racer by Yonezawa of Japan has to be one of the finest, and certainly largest vehicles ever made. With bright colours and extensive graphic images, this futuristic streamlined racer, powered by a strong friction motor measures 74 cms (28 inches) in length.
Made in the mid 1950's for only a very short period of time, very few have survived. The scarcity of the Atom Jet Racer has made it even more sought after by collectors of large tin toys.
The goggle-wearing driver is enclosed in his cockpit, which would have only captivated children's imagination at the time. The Atom Jet Racer was equipped with sparklers inside the body that would shoot sparks out the rear of the jet as it was rolled across the floor. Although the sparklers have since burned out, the rest of the vehicle remains in near perfect condition, right down to its rubber tires and chrome hubcaps.
We are selling these either as a set for $18,800, or individually at $6,300.
