"Biscuits Delser" Limousine Figural Biscuit Tin, Circa 1932

This fabulous Figural Biscuit Container was made in Italy by the toy company, Cardini for the Delser Biscuit Company - It was produced as a festive and seasonal promotion for the company's Italian wholesaler, of which no more than 30 pieces were produced.

The standard and quality of the lithographed printing is amongst the finest produced on any toy of the period. The remarkable attention to detail includes a child's doll peering out of the rear window.

Delser was founded in rom the entrepreneurship of the family with the same name and began producing biscuits, wafers, candies and later on cookies for babies. At the time, the "Phosporated Cookie" was very popular and recommended by pediatricians since it was highly digestible and rich in mineral salts.
