N. D. Cass Company Athol, Massachusetts 1898 - 2003. In their many years of business, they manufactured a wide range of products from large pianos and drums to a popular wooden toy line called “The Funny Face Family” of toys. In 1950, N.D. Cass Co purchased the Fred Langfelder Corporation of New Jersey taking N. D. Cass into manufacturing children’s pianos. In their later years, they specialized in chalk boards and children’s furniture. On May 16th, 1996, their warehouse burned to the ground. The blaze was so large that people had to be evacuated from their homes. Most of Cass’ toys are trucks and automobiles, but they did produce a few pull toys.
