Ernst Plank "Greiff" Live-Steam Gunboat Circa 1902

This beautiful hand-painted boat is complete with a pull-along trolley, all accessories, and fitting including funnels, masts, cannons, and flags. The spirit fired live steam working mechanism is housed within the bulbous hull, which operates the brass propeller. Steering this magnificent vessel is by means of the operating rudder which is controlled by a wheel at the rear of the boat itself.

"Greiff" was originally the name given to one of the gunboats which patrolled one of the harbour's of the Hapsburg Dynasty in the late 1800s. Later, Kaiser Franz Joseph of the German Empire took his first tour of the Mediterranean in his newly named Imperial Yacht "Greiff".
